This is said to be the remains of the vacation home of Ho Taiko’s wife, and the political leader of the north (Nene). The garden is especially beautiful and sometimes referred to as ‘Sal Tree garden’ because it houses a 300 year old Sal tree which looks its best in late June. One of Kobe’s seven deities, Jurojin, is worshipped here. Every year in June, when the flowers bloom, there is a festival called, ‘Appreciation of the Sal Tree Flowers and the 1-string koto’.
